Allah: The Giver of Sustenance
There are numerous Noble Verses which include reference to the fact that it is Allah (Exalted and Glorified Be He) Who provides for people, giving wealth and sustenance without limit to whom He wills, or with limits to whomsoever of his bondmen He wishes. We find less than eighty places with this meaning, among which are the following five:
2:3. … and spend out of what We have provided for them (i.e. give Zakat, spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah’s Cause – Jihad).
3:27. … And You give wealth and sustenance to whom You will, without (measure or account).
4:39. And what loss have they if they had believed in Allah and in the Last Day, and they spend out of what Allah has given them for sustenance?
67:21. Who is he that can provide for you if He should withhold His provision?
89:15. As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honor and bounties, then he says (in exultation), My Lord has honored me.”
